SyncedCancer x Command Day Secondary School, Ibadan

9th June 2026

Syncedcancer SOP

We are Coming to Command Day Secondary School Because:

Approximately 70%

Cancer cases in Nigeria are diagnosed at a late stage

Between 30-50%

Cancer diagnosed today could be prevented

This makes cancer awareness and education important

About The Event

The SyncedCancer School Outreach Program with Command Day Secondary School in Ibadan will be the largest single-school cancer awareness event in Oyo State.

Projected Numbers

This event will directly reach 646 senior secondary school students. Every student in attendance will receive free educational materials to take home, extending the program’s reach beyond the school.

Activities

A structured one-hour program including a health talk and panel with a cancer survivor and healthcare professionals, student debate, prize round, and SyncSquad Ambassador sign-up.

Expected outcomes

Students will leave with stronger cancer prevention knowledge and healthier attitudes toward cancer stigma, equipped to have open health conversations at home and in their communities.

NCCP alignment statement

More about the SOP

What happens at the School Outreach Program?

Each HealthSync Day is a one-hour structured program that includes a moderated health talk and panel session with a cancer survivor and healthcare professionals, a student debate on cancer prevention topics, a prize quiz round, and a SyncSquad Ambassador sign-up for students who want to stay involved. All attending students receive free educational materials to take home.

What is the SyncSquad?

The SyncSquad is SyncedCancer’s student ambassador program. Students who sign up at the HealthSync Day become standing members of their school’s cancer awareness club, continuing the conversation long after the event. SyncSquad members receive ongoing resources, recognition, and opportunities to lead cancer awareness activities in their school communities.

Is the School Outreach Program open to other schools?

Yes. The SyncedCancer School Outreach Program is designed to scale across secondary schools in Nigeria. We are actively seeking partnerships with schools, state ministries of education, and organisations that share our commitment to cancer prevention education. If your school is interested in hosting a HealthSync Day, we would love to hear from you.

Is there a cost for students or schools to participate?

No. The SyncedCancer HealthSync Day is completely free for all students and schools. Educational materials are provided at no charge. Our goal is to ensure that cancer prevention knowledge is accessible to every student, regardless of their school’s resources.

How can my organisation get involved?

We welcome partnerships with corporates, NGOs, healthcare institutions, and government agencies. You can support the programme through sponsorship, in-kind contributions, or by co-hosting a HealthSync Day in your community.
